Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to common questions about the Adobe Student Licensing Program for UC students.

What is the Adobe Student Licensing Program for UC students?

Systemwide Procurement leveraged the collective bargaining power of UC to negotiate an impressive discount for all UC students. This program makes the Adobe Creative Suite accessible to all students at the participating campuses. This unprecedented access to industry-standard creative software allows UC students to level up their academic and personal projects.

The pilot program is currently available to students at the following campuses: UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC San Francisco, and UC Santa Barbara. If the pilot is successful, the program is expected to expand to all campuses in the '26/'27 academic year.

A list of frequently asked questions is provided below. If you have a question that is not answered here, please reach out to your campus IT department or contact the Adobe Student Licensing Program administrator via the Contact page.

How do I sign in and verify my UC student status??

Verification is a two step process, first with your campus then with Adobe.

  1. Complete your campus single sign-on process to purchase the license.
  2. After you receive the license and install the Adobe software, you are required to log in again to authenticate your license.
  3. How long does my license last?

12 months from the date of purchase.

    What are the hardware requirements?

For optimal performance with Creative Cloud apps, we recommend you keep your computer's or mobile device's operating system up to date. For desktop apps, Adobe supports our current apps and two previous major versions of each operating system. For web and mobile apps, we support only the current version of the operating system.

How many devices can I use?

Device limits are set by Adobe. You can install on multiple devices, but simultaneous sign-ins and active use follow Adobe's limits.

Can I use this on multiple devices?

Yes! Your Adobe Creative Cloud subscription can be installed on up to 2 devices simultaneously.

    What happens after graduation?

That varies depending on campus policy. Your student ID is required to authenticate the software and your campus IT department has policies governing how they offboard students.

What if I already have an Adobe account?

You must download your existing Adobe Creative Cloud content and settings to your device. This will allow you to keep your existing files and settings.
